Tow Truck Light Bars

Amber warning light bars built for tow trucks, wreckers, rotators and roadside recovery. The bars at the top of this page ship with dedicated tow-package rear sections, which put amber warning output at the back of the bed where a recovery operator actually needs it, not just across the cab roof.

Why tow operators buy the long bars

A wrecker works in the live lane. The warning signal that matters is the one facing traffic approaching from behind while the operator is out of the truck. Our 55", 61" and 68" bars are configured with rear-facing tow-package sections for exactly that, and they are the three sizes most of our recovery customers run.

Amber is the legal color for tow and recovery

Amber is the permitted warning color for tow trucks, wreckers and recovery vehicles in every US state. Unlike red and blue, it requires no department permit. Several states additionally allow amber combined with white or green for roadside work, and a few require amber to be visible from 360 degrees when the truck is stopped on a highway shoulder. If you work multiple states, the safe configuration is amber with rear tow-package sections plus a supplemental beacon or strobe at the rear of the bed. Prefer straight amber? Do tow trucks need amber and white light bars?

Amber is the recovery warning standard in every US state, and the white half doubles as a scene light for night hookups. Some states require an amber permit for operation on public roads; see the amber warning light laws by state guide.

What size light bar fits a rollback or wrecker?

Full-width headache racks on rollbacks and heavy wreckers take the 61" or 68" with the tow package. Mid-size wreckers and service bodies usually land on the 49" or 55"; construction and service vehicles that need a compact magnetic bar run the 11" mini.

Can I run the whole bar white for scene lighting?

Yes. Every module runs either ordered color at full output, so the bar switches to all white for work light and back to amber warning, with 24 flash patterns and a 3-mode traffic advisor.
