Tow Truck Light Bars
Amber warning light bars built for tow trucks, wreckers, rotators and roadside recovery. The bars at the top of this page ship with dedicated tow-package rear sections, which put amber warning output at the back of the bed where a recovery operator actually needs it, not just across the cab roof.
Why tow operators buy the long bars
A wrecker works in the live lane. The warning signal that matters is the one facing traffic approaching from behind while the operator is out of the truck. Our 55", 61" and 68" bars are configured with rear-facing tow-package sections for exactly that, and they are the three sizes most of our recovery customers run.
| Size | Typical truck | Tow package |
|---|---|---|
| 17" | Service truck, spotter, magnetic temporary mount | No |
| 30" | Light-duty wrecker, service body | No |
| 43" | Light-duty flatbed cab | No |
| 49" | Standard flatbed and integrated wrecker | No |
| 55" | Medium-duty wrecker, full-width cab | Yes |
| 61" | Heavy-duty wrecker and rotator | Yes |
| 68" | Full-width heavy recovery | Yes |
Amber is the legal color for tow and recovery
Amber is the permitted warning color for tow trucks, wreckers and recovery vehicles in every US state. Unlike red and blue, it requires no department permit. Several states additionally allow amber combined with white or green for roadside work, and a few require amber to be visible from 360 degrees when the truck is stopped on a highway shoulder. If you work multiple states, the safe configuration is amber with rear tow-package sections plus a supplemental beacon or strobe at the rear of the bed.

Frequently asked questions
What is the tow package?
A tow-package configuration adds rear-facing amber sections to the bar so the truck signals traffic approaching from behind while the operator works. It is available on the 55", 61" and 68" Low Pro bars.
Do I need a permit to run amber?
No. Amber is the unrestricted warning color for tow, recovery, construction and utility vehicles nationwide. Red and blue require authorization; amber does not.
Can I move a bar between trucks?
Yes, with the magnetic bracket option on the 17" and 30". The longer bars use door jamb or headache rack mounts and are intended to stay on one truck.
Will these survive a brine-treated winter?
The housing is sealed aluminum extrusion rated IP69K with a polycarbonate lens and stainless hardware. That is the same spec we ship to plow and municipal fleets in the salt belt.
Do you quote fleets?
Yes. We sell factory-direct and quote multi-truck recovery and towing fleets on request.
