Marine Accent & Strip Lights

Collection: Marine Accent & Strip Lights

Marine accent lights and RGB strip lights built for salt, spray, and sun. Black Oak LED's IP69K-rated accent lights and IP68 Fathom RGB strip light give your boat clean, low-profile lighting for consoles, compartments, under-gunnels, toe rails, and decks — in white, blue, red, green, amber, UV, or full-color RGB.

Boat accent lighting does two jobs: it keeps your crew safe moving around the deck after dark, and it makes the boat look the way you want it to at the dock or on the sandbar. Every light in this collection is sealed against washdowns and saltwater, runs on standard 12V boat power, and ships with stainless hardware. Veteran-owned, built and tested in Sarasota, Florida.

LED Accent Lights for Boats: Compact, Sealed, Bright

Our Marine Accent Light is a 3-diode Osram LED puck that puts out 495 lumens in white (220 lumens in color) from a 120° wide-angle beam — small enough to hide, bright enough to actually light a compartment or cockpit floor. Each light is rated IP69K, runs 10–30V DC, draws 0.35A, and is covered by a limited lifetime guarantee.

Choose your housing and color:

  • White housing – blends into gelcoat, consoles, and fiberglass liners
  • Black housing – disappears under gunnels, T-tops, and dark trim
  • Single colors – white, blue, red (preserves night vision), green, or amber
  • RGB – any color from one light, driven by an RGB controller
  • Ultraviolet (UV) – blacklight glow for livewells, decks, and night fishing setups

Every accent light includes a rubber mounting pad and stainless steel screw kit. Need to aim one? The 45° Accent Light Mount angles the light down a deck or across a step instead of straight out.

Fathom RGB Strip Light: Marine LED Strip Lighting Done Right

Hardware-store LED tape fails on boats — heat, washdowns, and vibration beat the adhesive and water gets into the strip. The Fathom RGB Strip Light is a sealed IP68, 12V marine strip with 36 LEDs per foot, available in 10 ft and 20 ft sections, and cuttable to length in 1-inch increments. Run all three channels together and you get full white at 120 lumens per foot: 1,200 lumens on the 10 ft section, 2,400 lumens on the 20 ft.

  • Mounts two ways – pre-applied 3M adhesive plus included clips and stainless screws
  • Cut and re-seal – silicone and end cap included so the strip stays IP68 after trimming
  • Clean 12V install – 2 ft 22 AWG lead; 3.7A (10 ft) or 7.4A (20 ft)
  • 5-year warranty – against defects in materials and workmanship

Best spots: under-gunwale for a wide wash across the deck, toe rails and coamings to accent the sheer line, hardtops and T-tops to downlight the helm, and cabin steps for low-level courtesy light.

Accent Light vs. Strip Light: Which Boat Lighting Do You Need?

Feature Marine Accent Light Fathom RGB Strip Light
Best for Compartments, consoles, steps, spot accents Long runs: gunwales, toe rails, coamings, hardtops
Output 495 lm white / 220 lm color per light 1,200 lm (10 ft) / 2,400 lm (20 ft) full white
Colors White, blue, red, green, amber, UV, RGB Full RGB (all channels = white)
Waterproof rating IP69K IP68
Voltage 10–30V DC 12V DC
Controller needed? RGB version only Yes
Warranty Limited lifetime 5 years

Most boats use both: a strip under each gunwale for the deck wash, and accent pucks in compartments, under the console, and on steps. Run everything RGB off one controller so the whole boat changes color together.

Wiring RGB Boat Lights

RGB accent lights and the Fathom strip need an RGB controller to drive the color channels. Our waterproof Bluetooth RGB controller (IP67, 10A per channel, 12–24V) runs color, brightness, and effects from the free Black Oak LED app — find it under Controllers & Switches. Accent lights come with a 4 ft lead; for longer runs add tinned-copper RGB wire, sold by the foot. Single-color accent lights are simple two-wire installs: positive, negative, a 5A fuse, and a switch.

Building out the whole boat? Pair these with our Fathom underwater lights for the transom and flood and spreader lights for the cockpit, or see our pontoon boat lighting for rail and deck setups.

Marine Accent & Strip Light FAQ

Are these accent lights waterproof enough for saltwater?
Yes. The Marine Accent Light is rated IP69K — sealed against submersion, pressure washing, and salt — and the Fathom strip is rated IP68. Both ship with stainless steel hardware.

Which color should I use on deck at night?
Red preserves night vision while running or fishing. Blue and green are the most popular for looks at the dock. White gives you real working light; the RGB versions let you switch between all of them.

Do I need a controller?
Only for RGB. Single-color accent lights wire directly to a switch. The RGB accent light and the Fathom RGB Strip Light both require an RGB controller.

Can I cut the strip light?
Yes, in 1-inch increments. Re-seal the cut end with the included silicone and end cap and it keeps its IP68 rating. Maximum single run is 20 ft; longer installs use separate sections on their own feeds.

Will these work on a trailer, dock, or UTV?
Yes. Anything running a 10–30V DC system (12V for the strip) can use them, and the same sealed housings handle road spray and washdowns.
