Amber is the workhorse warning color, and it is the one you can run without a permit. These are amber LED light bars for tow and recovery, construction, utility, municipal, plow, agricultural, pilot car and airport ground vehicles. Every size we build is available in amber, from a 17" magnetic mini bar to a 68" full-width heavy-duty bar.
Which amber configuration do you need?
Straight amber is the default and the right choice for most work vehicles. Amber and white adds steady-burn scene lighting for night work. Amber and green is used by incident command and some utility fleets. Amber and blue appears on snow removal and airport operations in the states that permit it.

No permit required
Amber is the permitted warning color for non-emergency vehicles in all fifty states. Tow trucks, construction and utility vehicles, snow plows, farm equipment, pilot and escort cars, and airport ground support can all run amber without department authorization, where red and blue cannot. A handful of states place conditions on amber combined with other colors, and a few require 360-degree visibility when stopped on a highway shoulder, so confirm your state code if you are running a combination configuration or working multiple states.

Do I need a permit to run amber lights?
No. Amber is the unrestricted warning color for work, recovery, construction and utility vehicles nationwide.
Amber, or amber and white?
Amber alone is the standard warning configuration. Add white if you need steady-burn scene lighting for night work; the white modules run independently of the warning pattern.
Will a low profile bar hold up to a plow season?
The housing is sealed aluminum rated IP69K with stainless hardware, and there is no reflector cavity to trap brine. It is the same bar we ship to municipal plow fleets.
Can I mount an amber bar without drilling?
Yes, on the 17" and 30" with the magnetic bracket option. Larger bars use door jamb or headache rack mounts.
What about a smaller amber beacon?
