Hog hunting lights are green for a reason. Hogs and most predators do not react to green and red the way they do to white light, so you can light a feeder or a sendero without the sounder busting off. Black Oak HOG GREEN bars use true green LEDs, not a white LED behind a green lens. The 10 inch double row green bar is the one most hunters bolt to a truck, UTV or stand rail. How to choose: a 10 inch bar covers a feeder at 100 to 150 yards. Go to 20 or 30 inches for a field or a long sendero. If you run a digital night vision or thermal clip on, add an 850nm or 940nm infrared bar: it is invisible to the hog and lights up the scope. Green or red for hogs?

Green shows more detail to the human eye at distance, so it is the usual hog pick. Red is the usual pick for coyotes.

How far will a green light bar reach?

A 10 inch combo bar lights a feeder at 100 plus yards. A 30 inch bar reaches well past 200 yards with the spot optics in the center.

Can I mount a green light on a feeder?

Yes. The 2 inch pods and the 10 inch bar run on 12 volts off a deep cycle battery.

Do I need infrared instead?

Only if you run night vision or thermal. IR puts out light the scope sees and the hog does not.
