We have been heads down building for a while now, and I figured it was time to share what's actually been happening here at Black Oak.

We moved into a bigger office, brought on new people, and are launching new products every single month this year. It's been a busy stretch, the good kind.

The Office Got a Real Upgrade

When we needed more space, we made a decision to build something that actually reflects where Black Oak is as a company. Part of that was the furniture. We went with solid walnut pieces from Artisan Born a workshop out of Jane, Missouri that builds with real hardwood, no MDF, no veneer, no shortcuts. A 60-inch round walnut conference table and a walnut L-shaped standing desk. You'll actually see them in our product photos now. Same reason we chose them as we choose everything else: real materials, built right.

New Products Dropping Every Month

Here's what we've been building:

Night Vision Color Cameras Our newest addition gives operators full-color visibility in near-zero light conditions. Built for hunters, marine operators, and security applications where seeing clearly in the dark isn't optional.

Emergency Light Bars Built to SAE J595 and J845 standards, the actual certifications emergency vehicles are required to meet. These are not off-road bars painted white. Flash patterns, synchronization, and mounting profiles are all engineered specifically for first responders.

LED Strip Lights and Multipurpose Spreader Lights The spreaders combine a forward-facing work light and an ambient color backlight in a single fixture one installation point, one wiring run, one controller input. Cleaner install, less complexity.

App-Controlled Lighting Systems Our controller uses CAN bus communication โ€” the same protocol modern vehicles use between onboard systems to manage zone control, intensity, color, and flash patterns from your phone. More reliable than analog dimming and updatable via firmware as we add features.

Built for People Who Use Their Gear

Everything we make is designed for use in the real world, on boats, off-road vehicles, emergency vehicles, farms, and work sites. The products coming out this year reflect where we see our customers pushing: more complex lighting setups, more demand for integrated control, and more applications where the lighting needs to do more than just turn on.

The Team Is Growing Too

None of this happens without the right people. We've been adding to the team across product development, customer support, and operations. If you've called us lately, you've probably noticed. We're getting better at every part of this.

There's more coming before the end of the year. If you want to talk through any of the new products or figure out what's right for your setup, give us a call atย 1-800-348-1287, Monday through Thursday 9 to 5, Friday 8 to 3 EST. We pick up the phone.
