Straight To The Reel

Thread the cord onto the reel's power port, hand-tighten the locknut, and go. Fastest setup and the one most people run.

Strapped To The Rod

Drop the pack into the neoprene holster, run the velcro sling around the rod blank or the rail, then plug in. Keeps the weight off the reel seat.

Battery management system

Watches current draw, cell temperature and the balance across the stack. Load the reel harder than the pack should deliver and it backs off before anything gets hot. Unplug, reconnect, and it resets.

Cylindrical cells, picked for cycle life

Cylindrical cells take vibration and heat cycling better than a pouch. Roughly 500 full cycles before you see 80% of new.

One opening, sealed three ways

Only the top plate comes off, on four waterproofed screws under a silicone gasket with an O-ring beneath. The bottom of the case never opens.

No power switch to forget. Plug the cord into the reel and it has power. The button on the side is a fuel gauge.

Charge off the included charger between trips. Top it off every few months in the off season and it holds.

Straight Answers

Will this fit my Daiwa Tanacom 1000?
Yes. The Tanacom 1000 runs the DT cord, SKU LB-CORD-DT. On the 10Ah, pick the Tanacom / BeastMaster / Seaborg 300–750 connection type and the cord is in the box.
Does it work with a Shimano BeastMaster 9000?
Yes. Same DT cord as the Tanacom, on 2-pin plug models. Shimano 6-pin reels use a different connector.
Will this fit my Banax Kaigen?
The Kaigen 1000 takes the BX cord, SKU LB-CORD-BX. Banax runs its own connector. Kaigen 1500 owners should call 1-800-348-1287 so we can confirm the plug first.
Will this fit my Daiwa Seaborg 300?
Yes. Seaborg 300, 500, 600 and 750 all take the DT cord. Only the MJ800 and MJ1200 need the MJ cord.
What happens if the reel loads up harder than the battery can deliver?
The management board cuts power before anything overheats. Disconnect, wait a few seconds, plug back in and it resets. The same board handles overcharge, short circuit, temperature and cell balancing.
How is it built to hold up offshore?
Cylindrical lithium cells, around 500 full charge cycles to 80% of new, a management board watching every cell, and one sealed opening. The top plate is on four waterproofed screws under a silicone gasket with an O-ring beneath. The bottom never opens.
How does it mount to the rod?
Two ways. Thread the cord straight onto the reel and let the pack hang off it, or drop the pack into the neoprene holster and strap it to the rod blank or the rail with the velcro sling.
What voltage is it?
14.8V nominal. The 10Ah is 10,000mAh and 148 watt hours. The 5Ah is 5,000mAh and 74 watt hours. 14.8V is the voltage electric reels are built to run on, which is why the pack plugs straight in with no converter.
How big is it?
The 10Ah is 7¼ inches tall by 2¼ wide and deep. The 5Ah is 4¾ tall at the same 2¼ width.
Do I need to buy a cord separately?
The 10Ah ships with the cord for the connection type you select. The 5Ah connects out of the box. Extra cords are $20.
